Today at the YNot bar, Larry Woodruff transported the audience back to the golden days of honky tonk country with his incredible one-man acoustic set. Known for his role as the lead singer of Skynnyn Lynnyrd, Larry showcased a different facet of his musical talent, proving himself to be an exceptional solo artist in the realm of classic country.

The YNot bar is an intimate venue that carries with it a great sense of nostalgia. In this space, can allow themselves to be washed over with the spirit of a day long before their time. The musician's guitar, and the timeless country classics he covered, made the past feel present in that small space. The sentiment was so strong in those old tunes, and the stories they held—some too close for comfort as it reminded me of the days my dad would sing in those old central valley country bars.

The set list was a journey through the classics, with Larry seamlessly transitioning from one song to the next, each track more captivating than the last. Whether it was the soulful ballads or the upbeat honky tonk numbers. Hank and the other outlaws were well represented.

Larry Woodruff sang a medley of classic country songs that reminded us why we love this genre so much and why it has endured for almost a century. Even if you aren't a country music fan, it's hard not to be wowed by the showmanship and talent of a performer who can pluck your heartstrings with a ballad and then make you join in the raucous fun of an up-tempo number. As I sat and listen, I was brought back to the country of my dad's years.

Thanks Larry Woodruff Acoustic for the music. It matters. Even Cole Hinkle would give his approval!!
